Knit Group + Pedicures? Sign me up!

Yarn Mountain has done it again. The yarn and fiber shop located in Harrisonburg, VA consistently finds new ways to make the knitting, crocheting and fiber art community welcome. First they created their Hangouts on Google+, which allowed anyone with an internet connection and a Google account to join in for classes, groups .. even actual video shopping in the store.

Now they have created an event to coincide with their TGIF Knit Group (Fridays from 2-4 pm) called Knit & Pedi. A local nail technician will be taking appointments for her express mobile pedicures to be performed while the customers attend the knitting group. Makes this mid-west resident wish she lived closer to Harrisonburg!

Advance registration and further details can be found here. Enjoy! If you're lucky enough to attend, let me know how it was!

Fond Farewells and New Beginnings

By Nicole Flores

In the past two years since I've moved back home from living nearly 20 years in New York, I've had the great experience of designing all of the advertisement for The Munising News and Alger County Shopper. Not only have I had the pleasure of working with some of the best people in town, but I've had the great experience of re-connecting with this awesome community and getting to know the members that make it such a great place to live.

With bittersweet feelings, I am writing to announce that today will be my last day with The Munising News. I am broadening horizons and am extremely excited to announce that Studio Savoie will be my main focus. It is a full service Graphic Design, Web Design and Printing company that I will be operating from my home office in Munising.

To learn more about what I have going on, visit StudioSavoie.com or NicoleFlores.com.

You can also find me on Google+Facebook and of course, here at my blog NicFlowers.blogspot.com

And just for fun, check out my cameo in Google's yet-to-launch marketing campaign for Google+ featuring my good friend and customer, Christina Blount Presnell of Yarn Mountain. See it here.  I even made the downloadable pdf!

I am so grateful for the experience and support I've received in the past two years, and I look forward to continuing to be of service to you all.

Change is good.

In a follow up to a comment from my customer on a previous blog post (Cars!), I've re-designed his business card for Southern Auto Brokers. Check it out below, and let me know what you think!

Here's the old design ....

And here's the new design!
I think it turned out pretty awesome. It's different from most of the things I've done, and I love it. I generated a QR code that not only throws SAB's hat into the newest technological ring, but lends a very cool element to the design of the card.

Check out some of my other work at NicoleFlores.com or head over to StudioSavoie.com to learn more about my work and to submit a Quote Request.

Believe22 Graphic Design

As a true girly girl, I have this passion for opulent, sparkly, shiny art. I have always said I wanted my bedroom to look like in the inside of Genie's bottle. I could spend hours reading the high fashion blogs, taking in all the taffeta and lace and jewels - and the shoes! Don't even get me started on the shoes.

I needed an outlet for all the inspiration and swirls (as my good friend calls it) in my head, so I created Believe22 Graphic Design as a division of Studio Savoie. It's where I can go and design in my happy place.

The influences in my happy place include funky retro, Victorian vintage, elegant Rococo, unicorns, peacocks, fairies .. you get it. If you are looking for a custom look to your new spa or bakery or wedding, check out some of my stuff at www.NicoleFlores.com/believe22. Check back often, there is new art uploaded regularly. Coming soon are some pieces I did for a wedding with a Vintage Carnival theme!

If you'd like to speak with me about a design, you can get me at one of the links to the right or call me at (616) 439-1303.
